Roy A. Thomas

Roy A. Thomas, age 56, of Chambersburg died Friday, November 11, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Tuesday, November 23, 1954 in Harrisonville, the son of the late George L. and Martha (Cooper) Thomas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. Roy will be remembered as a very loving man who was soft spoken and smiled a lot. He loved his favorite cat P.J. and playing the guitar. He loved to tell jokes and play jokes on others. His wife, Donna (Olewiller) Thomas to whom he was married for 34 years, survives him. He is also survived by a daughter, Christina J. and husband Jason Hertzler of Chambersburg, a son, Roy Alvey Thomas, Jr. and wife Tanya of Chambersburg; three sisters: Linda E. Bigler of Chambersburg, Patricia J. Seville of Chambersburg, Judith A. Foreman of Chambersburg; one brother: George R. Thomas of Chambersburg; five grandchildren: Ethan, Imagen, Sadie, Tessa and Willow; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara C. Everts and one brother, Leroy L. Thomas. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 16 at the Brown's Mill Cemetery with Reverend Dianne Salter officiating. A memorial service will be held immediately following the interment at First United Methodist Church, 123 S. Washington Street, Chambersburg.
