Ruth E. Bretzman

Ruth E. Bretzman, age 92 of Aspers, passed away peacefully into God’s eternal care, December 17, 2024 at Paramount Nursing and Rehab. She was born October 13, 1932 in Menallen Township, Adams County to the late Charles W. and Hazel (Dietrick) Bretzman. Ruth was a supply technician for the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot for 36 years and worked for the Gettysburg Times for 25+ years.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a life member of the Bendersville Fire Company, the Upper Adams Jaycees, the Upper Adams Fish and Game, the Gettysburg Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary, the Upper Adams and York Springs Senior Centers and a life member of the Oakside Community Park.

Ruth is survived by her brothers, Roy Bretzman and wife Candra of Aspers and Michael Bretzman and wife, Ruthie of Mechanicsburg; step-sister, Faith Bretzman of East Berlin and numerous nieces and nephews, that she loved very dearly. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Behney and Sarah Randall; brothers, Ivan Bretzman, Paul Bretzman, Duane Bretzman and John Bretzman; step-sister, Carol Bretzman and step-brother, Dale Heiner.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00am at the Bendersville Community Fire Hall, 144 Park Street, Bendersville, PA 17306. Reverend Susan Scott will officiate the service.
