Ruth L. Cooper

Ruth Lenora Cooper, age 78 of Gettysburg, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her home. She was born Thursday, June 18, 1936 in New Kensington, the daughter of the late William H. and Martha A. (Cromer) Bayer. Ruth graduated from New Ken High School in 1955. She was formerly employed by Shepherd's Choice Nursing Home in Gettysburg for many years. Her first husband, Wayne C. Faust passed away in 1983. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Herman O. Cooper. She is also survived by two daughters, Sharon A. Kuhn of Fayetteville and Lisa S. Sweitzer of York; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Bayer of California and James Bayer of South Carolina. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 8 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Jodi Fleming officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
