Ruth M. Baldwin

Ruth M. (Spangler) Baldwin, age 92 of Aspers, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Gettysburg Lutheran Home. She was born Wednesday, January 12, 1921 in Menallen Twp., Adams Co., the daughter of the late Charles D. and Dora Mae (Bender) Spangler. Ruth was formerly employed by Dal-Tile in Bendersville, Garretson Packing House and Donald Weaner Fruit Farm. She was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church. Ruth greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Baking and needlework were some of Ruth's favorite hobbies. Ruth and her husband, Orville had a small farm for many years. Her husband, Orville W. Baldwin, predeceased her November 14, 1995. She is survived by two daughters: Patsy and husband Roy Chapman of Aspers, Shirley A. Bateman of Timonium, MD, four grandchildren, Michael and wife, Dawn Showers and Bradley and wife, Nicole Showers, all of Aspers, Scarlett and husband, Jon Schappell of Collegeville and Michele and husband, Ron Showaker of Biglerville, five great grandchildren: Julia and Catherine Schappell, both of Collegeville, Paige Showaker and Natalie Showaker, both of Biglerville and Luke Showers, of Aspers. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Spangler. Professional services have been entrusted to the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating.Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
