Ruth M. Lehr

Ruth M. Lehr, age 91 of Gettysburg, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her home. She was born Sunday, June 25, 1922 in Huntington Township, Adams County, the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Ruth A. (Minter) Emlet. Ruth was formerly employed seasonally by Knouse Foods and Duffy Motts and had also worked at Dal-Tile in Bendersville. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gettysburg. Her husband Woodrow J. Lehr passed away May 1, 1993. She is survived by three daughters: Bonnie L. Keller of Mechanicsburg, Joyce E. Funt of Gettysburg, Stephanie A. Lehr of Gettysburg, one son: Lynn D. Lehr of Snow Hill, MD, one sister: Miriam Mentzer of Carlisle, one brother: Harold Emlet of Aspers, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Sarah Emlet and Margie Minter and seven brothers: Victor, Neil, Guy, Harry, Glenn, Fred, and Earl Emlet. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Private funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20 at Dugan Funeral Home,Bendersville with Robert Ruhlman officiating. Interment will be in Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery. A private visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services.
