Sara I. Bretzman Randall, age 87 of Aspers, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was born Tuesday, September 11, 1928 in Bendersville, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Hazel (Dietrick) Bretzman. Sara graduated from Biglerville High School in 1948. She was formerly employed by Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg for 18 years. Before the depot, she worked at F.W. Woolworth in Carlisle. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bendersville, where she served as church secretary for 26 years, she sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday school. She was very active in the Bendersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where she held all elective offices and served on the canteen committee. She had been an active volunteer with the Upper Adams Jaycees assisting at many Apple Harvest Festivals and Oakside Community Park functions. She was a member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary in Biglerville, the former Aspers Fire Company Auxiliary and Citizens Fire Company in Mt. Holly Springs. Her husband R. Ward Randall passed away in 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn A. and husband Paul Ashenbrener of Fort Atkinson, WI, Evelyn L. and husband Bill Kimmel of Aspers, Carol E. and husband Dave Beam of Aspers, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step-grandson, two sisters, Ruth E. Bretzman of Aspers, Jean B. Behney of York Springs, three brothers, Ivan R. and wife Judy Bretzman of Mount Holly Springs, Roy A. and wife Candy Bretzman of Aspers, Michael J. and wife Ruth Bretzman of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by stepmother, Eileen Heiner Bretzman, brothers, Paul R. Bretzman, C. Duane Bretzman and John C. Bretzman. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 126 Church Street, Bendersville with Reverend B. Wesley Smith III officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. There will be no viewing prior to the services at the church. Friends may visit with the family at a reception to follow the funeral services. As one of Sara's last requests, she asks that no flowers be sent to her services. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, P.O.
