Sarah E. Slaybaugh

Sarah "Sally" E.Slaybaugh, age 92 of Gettysburg, formerly of Gardners, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Raymond and Lorena (Davis) Shoemaker. Sally graduated from Boiling Springs High School. She was employed and retired from Knouse Foods, Gardners after almost 50 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Her husband, Clair R. Slaybaugh passed away in 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne M. and husband Robert Gilbert of Gettysburg, Patsy I. Miller of Simi Valley, CA, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, three brothers, Donald, Raymond and Creedon Shoemaker, two sisters, Kitty Sheffer and Elsie Kuhn. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Carrion. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 25 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Sheffer officiating. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of services.
