Sharon L. Funt

Sharon L. Funt, age 71, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by her family in her home in Wellsville. She was born July 11, 1953 in Carlisle, PA, as the daughter of the late Ernest S. and June E. (Byers) King.

Sharon graduated in the Class of 1971 from Northern High School in Dillsburg, PA. She was a homemaker for her family. Sharon was previously a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Rossville and more recently attended Grace Chapel Church in Elizabethtown. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed quilling, crafting, gardening, taking care of her fish pond with the water flowers and goldfish, and most of all, spending time with her family and her beloved pugs, Sam and Harley.

Sharon is survived by her three loving daughters, Lisa and her husband, William Rehmeyer of Elizabethtown, PA, Lory Baer of Mechanicsburg and Rebecca and her husband, Jeffrey Gewertz of Manchester; three grandchildren, Amanda Garis and her husband, Joseph, Sarah Rehmeyer and Matthew Baer; one great-granddaughter, Octavia Garis; four brothers, John, David, William and Paul King; two sisters, Sandra Shaffer and Shirley Hawkins and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry E. Funt, who passed in 2021 and her brother, Steven King.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Public Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville, with Pastor Melvin Weaver officiating. Private Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.
