Sherril W. Guise

Sherril W. Guise, age 88 of Biglerville, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Gardens at Gettysburg. He was born Tuesday, February 11, 1930 in Biglerville, the son of the late Paul C. and Evelyn Mae (Warner) Guise. Sherril graduated from Biglerville High School in 1948. Since he was in high school, he worked at his father's garage on North Main St. in Biglerville until 1966. He owned and operated S.W. Guise Repair and Towing in Biglerville since 1967. He mowed the Bendersville Cemetery since 1958. He towed for the PA State Police for over 50 years and drove school bus for Upper Adams School District for 42 years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Biglerville and the secretary of the Adams County Automotive Assoc. for 50 years. He was a life member of the Biglerville Fire Company, where he drove an ambulance for many years. He was also a member of Upper Adams Fish and Game and the Adams County Fish and Game. Sherril raced go-carts in Hunterstown for several years. He drove push truck at Lincoln Speedway and towed and operated a push truck at Trailways Speedway. In addition to his love of cars, Sherril loved to hunt and fish and spent a lot of time doing both in Potter County. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean E. (Murtof) Guise. He is also survived by a daughter, Marsha A. Tuckey of Gardners, two sons, Gary L. and wife Rhonda Guise, Robert E. and wife Sue Guise, all of Biglerville, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Earnst of East Berlin, and a brother, Cecil R. Guise of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Mark E. Tuckey and brother Harold S. Guise. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, December 10, at Dugan Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Fanus officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
