Sherril G. (Jess) Tuckey, age 79 of Biglerville, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Thursday, August 2, 1934 in Aspers, the son of the late Charles C. and Retta (Sowers) Tuckey. Sherril graduated from Biglerville High School. He served a total of 20 years in the US Army. He began his military career during the Korean War. He served until 1961 and then re-entered the Army in 1974 retiring in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion. Sherril enjoyed hunting, fishing and his time with his grandchildren. His wife, Phyllis (McDannell) Tuckey passed in 2008. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie A. and husband Cruz Garcia of Glendale, AZ, a son, Tony and wife Christina Tuckey of Colbert, GA, a sister, Viola Taylor of Gardners, a brother, Laverne Tuckey of Carlisle, six grandsons, Jesse Malec of Goodyear, AZ, Tomas Garcia of Glendale, AZ, Michael St. Pierre of Athens, GA, Wayne St. Pierre of Danielsville, GA, Kevin St. Pierre of Commerce, GA, Joshua Hall of Conyers, GA and seventeen great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death, Bruce, Cameron and Donald Tuckey and one sister, Evelyn Tate. Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville is handling professional services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 13 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Derek Wadlington officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 12 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
