Shirley A. Baker

Shirley A. Baker, age 79 formerly of Arendtsville, said good-bye Thursday, February 25, 2016 at York Hospital. She was born Monday, April 6, 1936 in Bendersville the daughter of the late William H. and G. Miriam (McCauslin) Shafer, Jr. Shirley was formerly employed by Kuykendall's Market in Arendtsville for many years. She also had baked and decorated cakes for weddings and other events. Her first husband, Melvin P. Shull passed October 4, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Emory Baker. She is survived by two daughters, Hope L. Baker of Chambersburg, Brenda Pollard-Shull of Arendtsville, three sons, Mel Shull and son-in-law Lee Baer of Biglerville, Daniel P. and wife Anita Shull of Gettysburg, David M. and wife Lisa A. Shull of Gettysburg, six granddaughters: Manda Eger of Idaville, Heather Shull of Shippensburg, Hanna Shull of Bonneauville, Danielle Shull of Orrtanna, Krystle Brough of Chambersburg, Corey Himes of Fort Worth,seven grandsons: Gary Stienour, Jr. of Philadelphia, Bobby Riley of Gettysburg, Jesse Shull of Orrtanna, Branden Groft of Bonneauville, Lucas Shull of Bonneauville, Rob Eger of Idaville, Thomas Himes of Fort Worth, eight great-granddaughters: Janelle Riley of Gettysburg, Aubree Shull of Orrtanna, Emma Stienour of Shippensburg, Mara Groome of Philadelphia, Adelyn Himes of Fort Worth, Alexis Eger of Carlisle, Chelsey Eger of Idaville and Kayla Eger of Carlisle, four great-grandsons, Hollis Eger of Idaville, Layne Helman of Chambersburg, Zylon Bowman of Philadelphia and Aiden Himes of Fort Worth, three brothers: William Shafer of Taneytown, MD, Robert and wife Sandra Shafer of Springfield, MA, and Frederick and wife Anna Shafer of Bonneauville. She was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Shull, brother Charles Shafer, sister Jolene Auchey and brother-in-law Richard Auchey. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 2 at Dugan Funeral Home with Rick McCauslin officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Now we allow heaven to wrap its arms around her!
