Shirley L. Bethea

Shirley Lobaugh Bethea passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice in Sanford Florida on Saturday, September 11, 2021. She graduated in the class of 1953 and worked for a short time after graduation at Harrisburg Hospital. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland and was employed at the VA Hospital and later at Franklin Square Hospital as an emergency room nurse. She later moved to St. Cloud, Florida where she was an active member of First Baptist Church of St. Cloud. She loved her family and friends dearly and was an avid sports fan. She also enjoyed serving her church and her community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman S. Bethea. She is survived by her son, John S. Bethea of Baltimore, Maryland, her daughter Jackie M. Szymanik of St. Cloud, Florida and her granddaughter, Heather A. Trees (Jared C. Trees) of Marengo, Ohio. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 24 at Dugan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bendersville Cemetery.
