Shirley A. Walde

Shirley A. Walde, age 90 of Gettysburg, passed away October 13, 2025 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born October 28, 1934 in Biglerville, a daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Slaybaugh) Watson. Shirley was widowed by her husband, Joseph W. Walde in 2022.

Shirley worked until having children and then she was a stay at home mom, raising her children until her husband opened up their business of Walde‘s motor repair with which she helped. She loved working in the shop along side her husband. Shirley also loved reading and traveling with Joe.

She is survived by her children, Diana Gulden and husband, David of Gettysburg, Mark Walde and wife, Belinda (Hall) of Biglerville, Jody Walde-Stine and husband, George C. Stine Jr. of Biglerville and Nick Walde and significant other, Rebecca Hansford of Gettysburg; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elaine (Keller) Walde of Gettysburg and sister-in-law, Virginia Walde of Biglerville.

Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Greg Walde; granddaughter, Jordan Walde and brother, Robert Watson.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street Bendersville. At Shirley’s request, all services will be private at the convenience of the family.
