Stanley Kenneth Group

Stanley “Stan” Kenneth Group, age 82, of Gardners, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Gardners. He was born April 29, 1941 in Gardners, as the son of the late Luther Kenneth and Julia K. (Stallsmith) Group.

Stanley graduated in the Class of 1959 from Biglerville High School. On April 9, 1960, he was married to Patricia (Rankin) Group. They were together for 63 years. He was a truck driver for several local trucking companies and some long-haul companies for around 40 years. Stan loved life, fast cars, laughter, children, animals and working outside. He wanted to be remembered as the character he was. He loved to make people laugh. Even through all the 16 years of various cancer, heart and kidney diseases, we always found time to love and laugh at life.

Stan is also survived by three children, Pamela and her husband, Greg Smith of Poland, Indiana, Stacey and her husband, Paul Labuzzetta of Gardners and Michael Group of Galeton, PA; four grandchildren, Autumn of New Oxford, TJ of San Diego, CA, Gage of Indianapolis and Zoe of Texas; three great-grandchildren, Donovan, Kaileb and Anastasia, all of New Oxford; two sisters, Deborah and her husband, Larry Kline and Lois Hartzel and one brother, Ronald and his wife, Judy Group.

In addition to his parents, Stan is preceded in death by his son, Rickey Alan; brother, Fred Group; brother-in-law, Donnie Hartzel; twin grandsons, Brayden and Braxton Labuzzetta and granddaughter, Ila Group.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial Services are at the discretion of the family.
