Steve G-M Shenton

Stephen G-M Shenton, Ph.D., age73 of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2013 at his home. He was born Monday, January 8, 1940 in Manhattan, New York, a son of the late William L. and Ruth E. (Sassaman) Shenton, Sr. Stephen was a professor of Communications and Journalism at Shippensburg University.He was a member of Shippensburg First Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane A. (Beisler) Shenton.He is also survived by three sons: Jonathan L. Shenton of Burlington, VT, Christopher S. and wife Stephanie Etter-Shenton of Saint Thomas, Matthew F. and wife Joelle (Rosenberry) Shenton of Fort Carson, CO; seven grandchildren: Olive Anne Oski, MacKenzie and Isaac Shenton, and Madilyn, Ethan, Faith and Gabriel Shenton; and one sister, Suzanne Shenton-Galvin of Sonoma, CA.He was preceded in death by one brother, William L. Shenton, Jr. Cremation services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg.Private memorial services will be held by the family at a future time. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
