Steven C. Smith

Steven C. Smith, age 29 of Shippensburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, May 11, 2014 at his home. He was born Friday, February 22, 1985 in Indiana, PA, the son of Brad T. and step-mother Jackie Smith of Acworth, GA and Linda M. (Butts) and step-father Dennis Byers of Upper Strasburg. Steven graduated from Cumberland Valley Christian High School and Shippensburg University with a BS in Business Administration. He was employed in the telecommunications industry for 12 years. He attended Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, football, vacations and was a big fan of movies. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Amanda R. (Decker) Smith, his beautiful infant daughter, Savannah R. Smith, and three-year-old son, Owen C. Smith, both at home in Shippensburg. He is also survived by a brother, Jeremy R. Smith, Chambersburg, a half-brother, Ben S. Byers of Upper Strasburg, two step-sisters, Audra Pursell of Loysville and Andrea Shanbarger of Hanover, maternal grandfather, Charles J. Butts of Newburg and step-grandfather, Jay C. Byers, Newburg. Professional services are being entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 15 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor John Byers officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Following interment, a reception will be held at Newburg First Church of God, 248 Newburg Road, Newburg.
