Sylvia L. Altice

Sylvia L. Altice, age 90 of Gardners, passed away November 24, 2024 at home. She was born June 27, 1934 in Hilltop, WV to the late Andrew and Gertrude (Peyatte) Pritt. Sylvia was the widow of John R. Altice. She enjoyed woodworking with her husband and taking care of the children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven children; Robert Altice and wife, Theresa of New Bern, NC, Diana Speelman of Gardners, Ronald Altice of Gardners, Peggy Richards and husband, Russell of Aspers, Sharon Chapman and husband, Fred of Gettysburg, Tammy Koontz and husband, Donnie of Biglerville and Loretta Ellis of New Oxford; 105 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Shafer of South Carolina and Marie Naugle of New Oxford and brother, Tony Pritt of Dover. Sylvia was preceded in death by five brothers and eight sisters.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. At the request of the family, there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at York Springs Global Methodist Church, 840 Trolley Road, York Springs, PA 17372 at 11:00 AM.
