Sylvia J. Boone, age 71 of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Saturday, March 21, 1942 in Dry Run, the daughter of the late Lester and Annie B. (Guyer) Arnold. Sylvia was formerly employed by Greiff Clothing Co. in Shippensburg for many years. She was also a waitress at the VFW in Shippensburg for several years. She was a very loving wife and stepmother who was liked by everyone. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, yard work and vacations at Front Royal, VA. She is survived by her husband, James M. Boone, Jr. to whom she was married for 41 years. She is also survived by one step-daughter Pamela L. Zeigler of Shippensburg, three step sons: Michael D. and wife Wanda Boone of Hellam, John M. Boone of Hanover and Greg S. Boone of Harrisburg; one daughter-in-law, Vicki Boone of Shippensburg; four grandchildren: Heather R. Seidenstricker, Derek B. Boone, Kenneth N. M. Zeigler, Ryan M. Boone; great-granddaughter, Baylee Seidenstricker; and one brother, Ronald Arnold of Chambersburg. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Rever; one brother, James Arnold and stepson, James M. Boone. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Memorial services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, April 19 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Shippensburg with Pastor Garry Culler officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, New York 10006.
