Tarence P. Group

Tarence P. Group, age 78 of Gettysburg, formerly of Biglerville, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Saturday, May 15, 1937 in Gardners, the son of the late Arthur P. and Evelyn (Taylor) Group, Sr. Tarence attended York Springs High School. He was employed by Frog Switch and Manufacturing in Carlisle for 35 years. After his retirement from Frog Switch, he worked at Cadbury Beverages for several years. He was a member of Gypsy Hunting Camp and American Legion Ira E. Lady Post 262.of Biglerville. Tarence was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales. He served in the US Army from 1960-1963. His wife, Nancy E. (Showers) Group passed away in 2014. He is survived by three sons, Brian B. and wife Lynda Group of Biglerville, Vernon A. and wife Nancy Group of Gettysburg and Wayne P. and wife Marci Group of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nadine Group of York Springs and Tena Spangler of Lancaster.He was preceded in death by brother Arthur Group, Jr. and sister MaryEllen Miller. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 22 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of services.
