Thelma E. Weaver Blocher, age 77 of Aspers went home to be with the Lord,Sunday, July 10, 2011 at her home in Aspers. She was born Sunday, October 15, 1933 in York Springs, the daughter of the late William Freemont and Emma Irene (Herman) Noel. Thelma graduated from Biglerville High School in 1951. Shewas formerly employed by Bair's Flower Basket and as a driver for the Gettysburg Times. She was also a chief operator at United Telephone Company in the early 1950's. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Biglerville and was very active in her husband Norman's church where she taught Vacation Bible School. She was a member of Upper Adams Meals on Wheels for twenty years where she served as secretary and was namedVolunteer of the Yearin 2009. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Arendtsville Lions Club, Arendtsville Fire Co. Auxiliary, Biglerville Fire Co. Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader in Biglerville for many years and was active with children in Donna' Twirlettes Majorette Group, making uniforms and other activities with the group. She was also a tour guide at the National Apple Museum. Thelma is survived by her loving husband, Norman G. Blocher to whom she was married for seven years. She is also survived by three daughters: Linda (Alvin) Kirby, New Oxford, Jeanne (Fred) Bunty, Gardners, Kathy (Tom) Provencher, Simpsonville, SC; two sons: Douglas (Brenda) Willman, Orrtanna, Timothy (Jessica) Willman, Dillsburg; step-children: Roxanne (Pat) Maloney of St. Louis, Missouri, Sanford (Susan) Weaver, Ottumwa, IA, Ronald E. (Darlene) Blocher and Glenn E. (Jane) Blocher, both of Gettysburg, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, 26 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Willman in 1978, her second husband, George "Abe" Weaver in 2004, a son Eric M. Willman in 1969 and a granddaughter, Carrie Ann Willman in 1989. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 14th at 2:30 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Franklin Street, Biglerville with the Reverends James R. Speelman and Paul Warnke officiating. Private interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery.A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 1:00 PMuntil time of services. Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Roth, Erick Roth, Andrew Willman, Adam Willman, Sean Bunty, Dakota Willman and honorary pallbearers Ronald Blocher and Glenn Blocher. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17325 or to your Local Salvation Army.
