Thelma M. Cooley

Thelma M. Cooley, age 87, formerly of Bendersville, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was born Saturday, September 19, 1925 in Gardners, the daughter of the late Paul N. and Laura M. (Kuhn) Starner. She was formerly employed by C.H. Musselman Co. for 39 years. She was a member of Idaville United Methodist Church. Her husband, Clyde E. Cooley died February 11, 1986. She is survived by four daughters: Patricia A. Windomaker of Gardners, Sandra K.Kessel of Gardners, Diana L. Himes of Aspers, and Tammy S. Bretzman of Gettysburg; eight grandchildren: Matthew Windomaker and Crystal Windomaker of Gardners, Chris Kessel of Gardners and Shawn Kessel of York Springs, Gina Stoothoff of New Albany, Christina McCleaf of Biglerville, Michael Himes of Aspers, Nathan Bretzman of Gardners and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Smith and one brother, Paul N. Starner, Jr. both of Gardners. She was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Brittany Kellison, her sister, Ruth Starner and a brother, Arthur W. Starner. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27 at Idaville United Methodist Church, 3725 Carlisle Road, Gardners with Reverend John Estes officiating.Interment will be in Idaville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services.
