Thelma M. Updegraff

Thelma M. Updegraff, age 81, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born April 30, 1940 in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Lawrence L. Sr. and Flossie E. (Orndorff) Updegraff. Thelma graduated in the Class of 1958 from Shippensburg High School. She worked at Stanley (Schoeneman) Manufacturing for 33 years and retired from working in food services at Shippensburg University. She attended the South Mountain Chapel Brethren in Christ Church in Shippensburg during her younger years. She loved family gatherings, cookouts, picnics, and animals. She is survived by one daughter, Tammy S. (Terry Richard) Updegraff of Shippensburg; one step-daughter, Devy (Chris) Bellnier of Tennessee; one step-son, Mike (Doris) Varner of Tennessee; one brother, Lawrence L. Updegraff, Jr. of Fayetteville; three sisters, Charlotte Phillips of Oklahoma, Darlene Updegraff of Shippensburg, and Brenda Bassett of Shippensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Harry Updegraff; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Gloria Updegraff. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 15 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Pastor Melissa Madera officiating. A Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg.
