Theodore J.H. Eckenrode

Theodore J.H. Eckenrode, age 83 of Fairfield, formerly of Aspers, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Waynesboro Hospital. He was born Monday, April 23, 1928 in Gettysburg, the son of the late Henry and Mary (Shiner) Eckenrode. He had been employed by PennDot and Green's Sawmill for several years. He retired from Duffy Motts in 1992 after 35 years of service. He was the husband of the late Margaret Rosemary Winebrenner Eckenrode who passed in July of 1992. He is survived by four daughters: Mary and Lenis Shaffer of Duncannon, Shirley and Ed Hershey of Newville, Rose and Larry Black of Biglerville and Susan and Carl Miller of Millerstown; four sons: Robert and Ginger Eckenrode of Biglerville, Donald and Sandra Eckenrode of Aspers, Samuel and Deana Eckenrode of Gettysburg and Joseph Eckenrode of Gardners; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren. He waspredeceased by a son, Theodore Eckenrode, andtwo grandsons: Robert Eckenrode, Jr. and Cody E. Eckenrode. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. In keeping with Ted's wishes, private graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 28 at 10:00 AM in the Biglerville Cemetery with Reverend Michael Mayer officiating.
