Thomas E. Leedy

Thomas E. Leedy, age 74 of Biglerville, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at his home. He was born Sunday, April 23, 1939 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Isaac E. and Laura S. (Kane) Leedy. Tom graduated from Biglerville High School in 1957. He was employed by Cadbury Schweppes, formerly Duffy Motts in Aspers, for 24 years. He held the positions of Vice President of Operations and Plant Manager of the Aspers facility. Prior to working at Cadbury, Tom was a barber at Chronister's Barber Shop in Biglerville for 13 years in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He had also served as Tax Collector for Biglerville Borough. Tom was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Biglerville, a Life Member of the Biglerville Fire Company, Good Samaritan FAM Lodge 336, where he served as past master, Lake Lloyd Hunting Club, American Legion Ira E. Lady Post 262 in Biglerville, Moose Lodge of Gettysburg, and Elks of Hanover. He served in the National Guard from 1962 to 1968. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie L. (Frank) Leedy. He is also survived by two daughters, Carol A. Leedy and companion Vincent Salgado of Silver Spring, MD and Molli J. Leedy and husband Richard Stover of Mechanicsburg; one son, Thomas I. Leedy and wife Daphne Sue of Biglerville; one granddaughter, Emma Stover of Mechanicsburg and two grandsons, Matthew Leedy and fiance, Emily Drobenak of Indian Head, MD and Jacob Stover of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Jean Simpson and a brother, Robert Leedy, both of Gettysburg. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 15 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 300 East York Street, Biglerville with Reverend Kim Blocher officiating. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville on Friday, February 14 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
