Timothy E. Higgins

Timothy E. Higgins, age 53, of Doylesburg, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Friday, July 24, 1964 in Chambersburg, the son of J. Lorraine (Pine) Higgins of Mercersburg and the late Edward I. Higgins. Timothy graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1982. He earned a B.S. in Science and B.A. in Psychology from Shippensburg University. He was employed as a medical technologist by UPMC Carlisle for 17 years. He was a member of Dry Run Church of the Brethren and liked to express his faith in his music. He wrote music, played guitar, drums and harmonica. He enjoyed baseball and golfing. He coached little league baseball in Lurgan and junior high baseball for Fannett Metal School District. He coached AYSO girls' soccer in Path Valley. He served in the US Air Force 1982 to 1987. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra (Shearer) Higgins. He is also survived by his daughter, Emily G. Higgins, of Doylesburg; a son, Jordan T. Higgins of Mountville and a brother, Gary Higgins of Hagerstown, MD. He was preceded in death by his father. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 23 at Dry Run Church of the Brethren, 18878 Main Street, Dry Run with Pastor Wayne Hall officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 1:00 PM until time of services.
