Vada G. Melhorn

Vada G. (Walker) Melhorn, age 80 of Biglerville, died onSaturday, July 2, 2011 at York Hospital. She was born Wednesday,August 27, 1930 in Carlisle thedaughter of the late Brice Samuel and Effie Viola (Souders) Walker. She married her sweetheart, George H. Melhorn Sr., on May 16, 1951. Vada's greatest love was playing bingo! She was a member of the Eagles of Gettysburg #1562 and she had worked at Duffy Motts. Vada cared deeply for her children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed. Vada is survived by one daughter: Rose Stringer of Biglerville; three sons: George Melhorn, Jr. of Arendtsville, Rickey Melhorn of Arendtsville, Harry Melhorn of Bendersville; one sister: Phyllis Walker of Carlisle; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: George H. Melhorn, Sr.; one daughter Glenda Eddington and five brothers: Max, Paul, Glenn, Jayand Donald Walker. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will be heldon Friday, July 8 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, andher funeral service will be heldon Saturday, July 9 at 10:00 AM, both at theDugan Funeral Home.Interment will follow the service in the Bendersville Cemetery.
