Velva B. Bufkin

Velva B. Bufkin, age 88, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab in Chambersburg. She was born Wednesday, October 5, 1927 in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Amos and Mary (Smith) Devor. Velva was a homemaker most of her life. She had worked for a short time at the Beistle Company before raising her children. She was a member of the former Cumberland Valley Hose Ladies Auxilary. She is survived by her husband, Robert K. Bufkin of 68 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Alma E. and husband Dale Myers of Shippensburg, a son, Robert K. Bufkin, Jr. and wife Pat Bufkin, of Temple Hills, MD, five grandchildren, Debra K. McKenzie, James Bufkin, Dale E. Myers, III, Joseph Bufkin, Benjamin Myers, seven great-grandchildren, Michael D. McKenzie, III, Madison E. Myers, Alexis C. Myers, Makayla R. Myers, Sophia N. Myers, Jack B. Bufkin and Ayva M. Bufkin. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Bufkin and four brothers, Boyd Smith, Amos Devor, Arthur Devor and Robert Devor. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 23 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Pastors Arnold and Anita Segesman officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
