Vera M. Mayberry

Vera M. Mayberry, age 88, formerly of Aspers, passed away on July 6, 2024 at Spirit Trust Lutheran Home of Utz Terrace in Hanover, PA. She was born June 25, 1936 in Tunkhannock, PA daughter of the late John and Mary Kapolka.

Vera was a 1954 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and retired from the Anne Arundel County Maryland school system as a Media Specialist Assistant. Vera had many friends that she’d had since high school and also had dear friends from the Jaycees that got together yearly and were known as the “Apple Blossom Gang”. She loved to play Scrabble with her grandchildren and Quirkle with her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards with anyone who she met that would play cards with her. Vera will be remembered and fondly missed by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Kenneth. She is survived by her two sons; Paul and his wife Kim, and John and his wife Susan; four grandsons; Michael and his wife Kate, Justin and his wife Maggie, Travis and his wife Lida, and Nathan and his wife Margaret; great-grandsons, Jackson, Niko, and Milo and great-granddaughters, Emmaline and Macy.
