Viola J. "Vie" Sherrard, age 86 of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Friday, December 2, 1927 in Berkeley Springs, WV, the daughter of the late Emmitt A. and Lillie (Davison) Bohrer. She attended New Testament Baptist Church in Chambersburg. She and her late husband, Warner owned and operated Sherrard's Jewelry Store in Shippensburg retiring in 1990 after 30 years in business. From 1990 until 2011 Viola, Warner and son, Dean were winter residents of Brooksville, Florida where they attended Grace Independent Baptist Church. They were members of the Primetimers Travel Club of the South. Viola was a member of the Jolly 60's Club of Chambersburg. She is survived by her son, Warner D. "Dean" Sherrard of Shippensburg, three brothers, Adam C. (husband of Shirley) Bohrer of Berkeley Springs, WV, James A. Bohrer of Martinsburg, WV and Dave S. (husband of Virginia) Bohrer of Silver Springs, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warner who passed on May 22, 1997 and her sister, Emogene M. Sokoloski. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Graveside Services will be held Friday, November 14 at 11:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Berkeley Springs. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 AM at New Testament Baptist Church, 5444 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Marlin Fleck officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
