Violet N. Evans

Violet N. Evans, age 85 of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born Friday, April 6, 1928 in Fannettsburg, the child of the late Russell and Lydia (Campbell) Black. She retired from Shippensburg University Bookstore. She was a member of the Mainsville Church in Shippensburg where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Ken E. (husband of Joanne) Berrier of Carlisle, Kay (wife of Lloyd) McKenrick of Chambersburg, Stephen Evans (husband of Rose) of Springfield, VT, Barbara (significant other Kevin Stum) Brookens of Chambersburg, Mark Evans of Chambersburg; grandchildren, Donald Fisher III, Tim Berrier, Stephanie Klinger, Kelley Pearson, Clair O'Donnell, Thailand Ferren and Ashley Ferren; ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Florence Boggs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles W. Evans; two brothers, Randall and Thomas Black and grandson Brian McKenrick. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Donald Herb officiating at Mainsville Church, 1354 Mainsville Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
