Walter D. Slusser, age 91 of Gardners, died Thursday, November 15, 2012. He was born Tuesday, September 20, 1921 in Gardners, the son of the late Denzil W. and Maude (McKinney) Slusser. Walter graduated from Carlisle High School. He was formerly employed by Naval Supply Depot inMechanicsburg for 45 years and was a member of NARF. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Goodyear. Walter was very proud of his voting record of 70 consecutive years of voting. His wife, Pansy V. (Seburn) Slusser passed away in January 1963.He is survived by his daughter, Linda K. and husband Keith Snyder of Gardners, two sons: Dale Slusser of Gardners and Larry W. and wife Linda Slusser of Carlisle; three sisters: Faye Bowermaster of Carlisle,Mereda Helm of Gettysburg, Paulette Kelley of Carlisle; two brothers: Christopher Slusser of Mechanicsburg and Kermit Slusser of Fairfield; four grandchildren; Ursala Marks, Laura Gibboney and Daniel and David Slusser; and two great grandchildren: Nicole and Nathan Marks. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and James Frank Slusser andtwo sisters, Marcella Moose and Valda Barnhart. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 19 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4200 Carlisle Road, Gardners with Reverend Eric Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Goodyear Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening November 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4200 Carlisle Road, Gardners, PA. 17324.
