Walter C. Showers

Walter C. Showers, age 75 of Arendtsville, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare. He was born Sunday, March 7, 1943 in Gettysburg the son of the late Marlin J. and Dorothy H. (Kuhn) Showers. Walt graduated from Biglerville High School in 1961. He was formerly employed by Knouse Foods and C.H. Musselman as a truck driver for many years. He also mowed the Wenksville Cemetery and Benders Lutheran Church Cemetery. He was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and the Arendtsville Fire Company. He was a former leader of the Webelos of the Boys Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Doris A. (Cox) Showers. He is also survived by three sons, Steven C. and wife Sandy Showers of Carlisle, Brian T. and wife Lola Showers of McConnellsburg, Christopher L. Showers of Illerica, MA, step-son Gregory L. Shaffer of Arendtsville and step-daughter Karin and husband Lance Brown of Orrtanna, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Ann (Sue) Keller of Walkersville, MD and one brother, James Showers of Aspers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Marlin Showers. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 10 at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville with Reverend Gary Fanus officiating. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time of services. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
