Wayne A. Hall, age 75, of Shippensburg, passed away on August 12, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chambersburg on December 24, 1948, the son of the late Elmer C. and Elsie M. (Kauffman) Hall.
Wayne dedicated his life to the family dairy farm, where his passion for milking and caring for his cows was evident in his daily work. As a member of various Holstein Associations, Wayne's dedication was recognized through numerous awards at local fairs and the Pennsylvania State Farm Show, showcasing the quality of his dairy herds. Like his Father before him, Wayne felt a strong calling to serve the Lord and turned his focus to ministry in the middle of his life. Wayne served as a pastor in several communities, including Piney Creek Brethren Church in Taneytown, MD, Locust Grove Brethren Church in Mt. Airy, MD, and Dry Run Covenant Brethren Church in Dry Run, PA. Most recently, he served as the interim pastor at Shippensburg Covenant Brethren Church. Wayne was known for his commitment to his congregation, regularly visiting members, and praying for others. He was also an active volunteer, participating in church missions and service projects. Wayne's love for his faith and farming was expressed in his book, "Loving the Lord and the Land."
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting with his son and grandson. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Steelers, but above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane M. (Ocker) Hall; his daughter, Deb Brenize, and her husband, Rod, of Manheim PA; his son, Bill Hall, and his wife, Gladys, of Enoree, SC; his grandchildren, Landon and his wife, Macy, Tanner, Carson, Alix, and Rae; his brother, Don Hall, and his wife, Loretta, of Shippensburg; and his aunt, Louise Helm, also of Shippensburg.
