Wilbur H. Fleagle, Sr., age 78 of Doylesburg, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born Tuesday, May 7, 1940 in Doylesburg, the son of the late Homer and Alice (O'Donnell) Fleagle. Wilbur was formerly employed by PennDot as an equipment operator for 27 years. He also farmed the family farm for many years. He attended Dry Run Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the Dry Run American Legion, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a life member of the NRA. Wilbur loved to hunt, especially spring gobbler season. He also enjoyed flint lock and muzzleloader hunting. He will be greatly missed by his Jack Russel terrier, Blackie. He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Janet H. (Goshorn) Fleagle. He is also survived by two daughters, Jackie M. and husband Elvin Parson of Doylesburg, Mary A. Fleagle and companion Doug Decker, Jr. of Fort Loudon, one son, Homer W. Fleagle of Carlisle, four grandchildren, Alan, Alice, Kieara and Trevor, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Grace Shearer of Doylesburg, Betty Hockenberry of Doylesburg, two brothers, Paul Fleagle of Fort Loudon, and Dale Fleagle of Wheeling, WV. He was preceded in death by one son Wilbur H. Fleagle, Jr., brothers, Jesse, James, Richard and one sister Irene Piper. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Dry Run United Brethren Church, 18878 Main Street, Dry Run with Reverend Wayne Hall officiating. Interment will be in Doylesburg Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday, January 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
