William “Squeak” Maurice Bilger, age 75, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on May 12, 1950 in Philadelphia, as the son of the late William Frederick and Catherine Elizabeth (Goloff) Bilger.
William left high school early to join the U.S. Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. William had worked as a truck driver for over 30 years and most recently retired from Cressler Trucking Inc. William was a former member Our Lady of The Visitation Parish and Loyal Order of Moose #2500 in Shippensburg. In his spare time, William enjoyed DJing, listening to records and music, watching wrestling on TV, doing puzzles, and spending time with his family, his beloved dog, Chewy and fish.
William is survived by his daughters, Sheri Reed and her husband, Brian of Shippensburg and Catherine Neil and her husband, Jeremy Neil, Sr. of Chambersburg; son, Wayne Bilger and his wife, Tara of Newville; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Diehl and Madeline McBeth; brother, Joseph Bilger and his wife, Sherrie and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife of 40½ years, Linda L. (Clarke) Bilger and his brothers, Robert Bilger and John Bilger.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A Public Viewing will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 6:00to 8:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ben Dunkelberger officiating. A Public Viewing will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of services. A Procession will follow the service to Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, for burial with military honors provided by Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 Minutemen Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the Bilger family kindly requests that, contributions may be made in William’s honor in form of taking it upon yourself to do a random act of kindness towards a stranger.
