William “Bill” A. Dechene

William A. “Bill” Dechene, Jr., 83 of Newburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Born Sunday, April 17, 1938 in Potsdam, New York, he was the son of the late William and Fern (Rice) Dechene. William was the manager of Union Tools in Shippensburg. William is survived by his wife Marianne (Saulnier) Dechene, two daughters Catherine (Emory) Johnson of Newville and Paula Diehl of Newburg, grandchildren: Angela Eshenour, Olivia Dechene, Owen Dechene, Austin Dechene Diehl and Eilene Besselman, great-grandchild Andrew Eshenour and a sister, Denise Hogan of Shippensburg. He was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick William Dechene and Roger William Dechene, a sister Catherine Fletcher and a brother Gary Dechene. A Catholic Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 18 at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 305 N Prince Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257. A visitation will be held from 12:00 -1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of Visitation in memory of William.
