William “Bill” Thomas Pierce, age 90, of Chambersburg, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Chambersburg. He was born May 18, 1932 in Jackson, TN as the son of the late Wiley H. and Fannie (Wilkens) Pierce.
William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had a side job of installing carpet for several years in the Shippensburg area. He retired from SKF Industries after working as a machinist for over 20 years. He was a former member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 in Shippensburg and the Amvets Post 224 in Chambersburg. In his spare time, William enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren; he was a loving husband to Elizabeth.
William is survived by two step-sons, Charles E. Truett, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Shippensburg and Jimmie A. Truett and his wife, Esther of Chambersburg; step-daughter, Sallie E. (Truett) Aldridge of Chambersburg; seven step-grandchildren and one niece. IIn addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lorraine (Rhine) Truett Pierce, who passed July 9, 2021, as well as four brothers and four sisters.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A private family interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg, PA.
