William Joseph Richardson

William, “Will”, Joseph Richardson, age 71, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born August 4, 1949, in Carlisle, son of the late Hugh and Lila (Johnson) Richardson. Will graduated in the Class of 1968 from Big Spring High School. He retired from Carlisle Tire and Rubber after working 39 years there as a mechanic. He was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church in Newville and Walnut Bottom Rod and Gun Club in Walnut Bottom. In his spare time, Will enjoyed playing softball. He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and Dallas Cowboys fan. Will is survived by one daughter, Saundra Cunningham of Shermans Dale, PA; one sister, Phyllis and her husband, John Chastain of Newville; one brother, Phillip Richardson of Harrisburg; two grandsons, and one great-grandson. In addition to his parents, Will was preceded in death by his wife who passed March 1, 2021, Margaret S. (Lehman) Richardson.
