William V. Snyder, Jr.

William, “Bill”, Vernon Snyder, Jr., of Shippensburg, passed away on April 7, 2022 at Mennohaven Nursing Home in Chambersburg. Bill was born on May 10, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia, to the late William Vernon Snyder, Sr., and Olive May (McClelland) Snyder. He graduated from Bergenfield High School in June of 1961 and the University of Pittsburgh in 1965 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to work at PPG Industries in Mount Vernon, Ohio and was transferred to Carlisle in 1972, where he worked at PPG Industries in Mount Holly Springs until his retirement in 2002. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved gardening and landscaping. He was a lifetime member of The Elks and former member of First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Bill is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Loretta (Bowlby) Snyder, son, Jeffrey Snyder (Angela) of Carrollton, VA, daughter, Jennifer (Snyder) Cox (Terry) of Shippensburg, four grandsons; Matthew Snyder, Andrew Snyder, Aaron Cox (Megan) and Jacob Cox, sister, Verna Brundin and several nieces and nephews. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no visitation and services will be private at the convenience of the family.
