William Lee Watson, age 87 of Aspers, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home. He was born Friday, September 23, 1927 in Beryle, WV, the son of the late Eston W. and Viola M. (Dye) Watson. William retired in 1969 from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He worked for PPG from 1970 till 1977. He was a life member of Mount Holly American Legion Post 674, a member of the FOE Gettysburg Post 1562, a life member of Shoshonean Rod and Gun Club anda member of the Biglerville American Legion Post 262 for 30 years. He was an avid bowler in his younger years and once bowled a 299. He loved horse racing, playing golf, playing cards, collecting baseball cards and other memorabilia. He loved his dog Champ. He is survived by his children, Toni E. McKee, Aspers, Pamela M. (Robert M.) Kennedy, Gardners, Thomas R. Watson (friend Sandy Sharrah), Aspers, Sherry L. Watson, Elliottsburg, Cathy A. (Robert) Flickinger, Carlisle,12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Airman 2nd Class, Darlene C. (Ross) Watson of 40 years, his parents, four grandchildren, three brothers: Dan, Paul and Rob, and sisters, Bess and Elizabeth. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 South Main Street, Bendersville, PA 17306. A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home with Reverend Walter Barlow officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
