Willis L. Johnson

Willis L. Johnson, age 79 of Doylesburg, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Shippensburg Healthcare Center. He was born Sunday, July 25, 1937 in Blain, the son of the late Dean B. and Zelda (Witter) Johnson Harris. Willis attended Fannett-Metal High School. He was formerly employed by DeRose Industries in Chambersburg for 25 years. He was a member of Shady Pine Mennonite Church in Willow Hill. He served as 4-H leader of Horse and Pony Club of Port Royal and the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed square dancing, horses, and going to the PA State Farm Show. Bluegrass gospel music was his favorite. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathy A. (Beidel) Johnson. He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Johnson of Chambersburg and Linda Johnson of Newburg. He was preceded in death by one sister Mina O'Donel. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Shady Pine Mennonite Church, 14620 Shady Pine Road, Willow Hill with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neal officiating. Interment will be in Doylesburg Union Cemetery with Military Honors. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
